Overview
The Yoga @ Cindy’s Teacher Training program hosted at Bliss Yoga is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance recognized program carefully designed for serious students of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as for those students who wish to become teachers themselves. As a student in our training program, you will meet 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) a week for a 3 month period. Each week you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics – from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and breathing techniques.
Prerequisites
No formal experience is required to enroll in the Yoga @ Cindy’s teacher training program. However, we do recommend that you have had at least 6 months of a regular practice (3x week), or equivalent, prior to the start of the course. Participating in this training will be a profound experience, taking you to places in your body and mind that you never thought possible. We will be doing lots and lots of yoga, and you will be required to practice for at least 2.0 hours per week in addition to regularly attending all scheduled classes. Making this kind of commitment to yoga is not something you should undertake lightly. Please make sure you have done enough yoga to know it is something with which you truly want to spend time.
Note
A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training. In fact, WE ENCOURAGE people with all body types and those with physical challenges to consider this program. Yoga is at heart a practice of meeting the body where it is at, and then working within yourself to slowly and respectfully move deeper. The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of this training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head to become a teacher or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.
Teacher Certification
For those who complete all the requirements of the program, you will receive a Yoga @ Cindy’s Certification. You will also be eligible to join The Yoga Alliance(RYT 200) if you choose.
What is Yoga Alliance?
Because no legal guidelines exist for teaching yoga, The Yoga Alliance, has composed minimum educational standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher training programs.
Our Standard Weekend Schedule
We will meet Saturday and Sunday at the following times:
Saturday from 8:00am-2:00pm
Sunday from 8:00am-2:00pm
*hours subject to change
Requirements for Certification
• Attend ALL scheduled classes.
• Be on time for ALL classes.
• Practice-teach 4 yoga classes. Upon the final practice class the student must demonstrate a strong ability to create a harmonious sequence, explain the poses, manage the space and engage the students. More practice-teaching, or further instruction may be required.
• Observe/assist in 4 yoga classes.
• Lead 1 posture clinic.
• Read ALL required books, handouts and materials.
• Pass a final exam with at least 80%.
• Practice a minimum of 2.0 hours per week in addition to teacher training classes
• Attend a variety of teacher’s classes.
• Complete 10 hours of Community Service – plan and teach 2 classes for an organization of your choice.
Attendance
Because this program is specifically tailored to The Yoga Alliance standards, attendance is essential. That said, we recognize that life happens. Therefore students can miss up to five hours of class without makeup and an additional six hours can be missed but must be made up with other assignments. Being on time for class is also essential and more than 15 minutes late is counted as absent.
Schedule
The Yoga @ Cindy’s Teacher Training is a 3 month intensive. The Winter 2010 teacher training hosted at Bliss Yoga begins on January 23, 2010. We will meet every weekend from late January thru the 3rd weekend of April. The final exam is on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
Topics of Study
During the 200 hours of training, you will be exposed to a wide range of topics and skills that will help you to deepen your practice and prepare you to teach. Completing this program will also give you the hours in the required subjects you need to join The Yoga Alliance, if you choose to, upon graduation.

Candlelight yoga practice with live strings and vocals at Bliss Yoga Manila
A great way to end a stressful week and start the weekend as you step into our delightfully illuminated shala. Junji Arias from Velcro lends his talent to this open level class lead by Marah Arcilla that allows you to find the connection between you and your heart, hearts of others and the heart of the universe. An informal and intimate gathering will follow after the class where food prepared with love will be served.
Can you keep an open heart to yourself and to the world even when there is pain?
Open your heart and bring fire into your yoga practice on December 4, 2009, Friday at Bliss Yoga Manila.
100 php for members
500 php for non members
Please call ahead of time to reserve a mat as space is limited.

Junji Arias plays with his band, Velcro at Capone’s. Don’t be fooled by the tattoos and rebel look. He is a kindhearted fellow who loves to share his gift of music. He reckons he has something stuck in his throat when he sings but he saw that as an opportunity that distinguishes his singing style.
Marah Arcilla risked opening her heart and decided to come back to Manila to share the beautiful practice of yoga. In light of so much disaster, pain and suffering, she came to realize it is still a wonderful city to live in.
This class was so full of energy. It felt like crossing a mountain range with the sun shining in your face and a soft breeze encouraging you to keep taking that next step… I couldn’t help but smile all throughout the session, even when some of the poses got a bit tough. Invigorating. For the mind, body, and soul.
